The 2ndAffiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University (Lingui Clinical College) is a large-sized modernized comprehensive hospital directly subordinate to Guilin Medical University. It is near the new campus (chief campus) of Guilin Medial University, and bears efficient transport and an elegant environment.Established in 1942, the hospital was renamed as the 2ndAffiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University in 2014, and is an institution accredited by Atrial Fibrillation Center of China, an institution accredited by China Chest Pain Center, a hospital as a test site of national delivery analgesia, an institution as one of national high-level apoplexy centers, a national baby friendly hospital, a civilized institution of Guangxi, Northern Guangxi Rescue and Treatment Center for Wounds by Venomous Snakes, the first hospital as a aeronautic rescue center in northern Guangxi, a rescue and treatment center for critically-illpregnantand birth-giving women in Guilin, and a rescue and treatment center for critically-ill Neonates.
The hospital takes up an area of 82,900 square meters, is equipped with 900 registered sickbeds, and possesses a batch of high-level talents.In recent years, as the hospital strove in introducing high-tech talents, incessantly practiced new technologies, carried out new programs, the numbers of its outpatients, emergency treatments, discharged patients and operations steadily grew.
The medical departments of the hospital are set in an all-round manner. It carried out technological cooperation and exchanges with the grand hospitals inside or outside Guangxi for a long term and connected with the frontiers of domestic and overseas medical research.The hospital has 45 clinical, or scientific and technological departments, 51 specialized departments for outpatient service, 12 specialized nursing departments, an ICU that possesses integrated operation rooms with advanced equipment and reasonable layout, labor-delivery-recovery rooms, and nursing units of which each is equipped with 30 sickbeds, as well as neonate wards with 80 sickbeds. So far, it has had 4 key disciplines or key disciplines in cultivation for Guangxi’s medical and health cause, 3 municipal-level key specialized departments, and 1 key lab of Guangxi Health Commission in cultivation.It has established the only one independent specialized department for diagnosing and treating cerebrovascular diseases in Guangxi, and northern Guangxi’s biggest pain medicine department that can integrate physical treatment, intervention treatment, minimal invasive surgeries, and rehabilitation.
The hospital makes great efforts to develop multi-discipline diagnosis and treatment teams, actively forges painless wards, and can usually perform different types of third-grade or fourth-grade operations, minimally invasive operations, and apply many technologies in diagnosis and treatment, such as endoscope and intervention, etc. Some of the operations are the first such ones performed in northern or even the whole Guangxi.In order to ensure the smooth application of the diagnosis and treatment technologies, the hospital is equipped with various sorts of large apparatuses for examination, diagnosis, treatment and assistance, including 64-row 128-slice spectral CT scanner of GE, the USA,Siemens 3.0MRI, Philips digitalsubtractionangiography, automatic single-dose dispensing machine, intelligent quick dispensing machine, and multi-function self-service printer. And it is about to utilize a PET-CT scanner, the first Category A large medical device in northern Guangxi.
Based on its construction of informationalization, the hospital is actively transforming itself into an intelligent hospital, and it took the lead to practice the mode of medical service through social security card, and apply the system of versatile card which make medical service available to patients who present ID card, social security card, resident health card, or bank card.With the acceleration of its developmental steps, the hospital enhances the improvement of its infrastructure, and ensures the high qualities of its service for people’s health.
The hospital is equipped with a clinical experimental center and teaching and research sections integrating scientific research, teaching and clinical service, and it actively takes on the responsibilities of being a teaching hospital, and has achieved abundant fruits in teaching reform, talent cultivation and scientific research.Its students majoring inclinicalmedicine participated in the final of National Clinical Skills Competition for Medical College Students and obtained excellent results.The hospital has a lot of experts and professors who are undertaking the research work of some projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, or Guangxi Natural Science Foundation. The number of the hospital’s projects supported by the two foundations ranks among the highest of those of the institutions directly under the government in Guangxi. At present, the hospital has one medical worker selected into the second batch of candidates to be cultivated into Guangxi high-level medical disciplinary leaders, and two into the second batch of candidates to be cultivated into Guangxi high-level young and middle-aged medical disciplinary backbones.
